St Clair is a place I never get tired of painting.
The mash-up of surfers, coffee drinkers, beach
walkers, dogs, cars, clubbies and the ocean
ties it together. The weather can be dramatic,
but there’s rarely a Dunedin day with no surf.
Pia is a Dunedin-based painter whose work is shaped by a
lifelong connection to art and the natural world. Raised in a
family of gallerists, she grew up surrounded by paintings that
continue to influence her today. Drawing inspiration from local
beaches, estuaries, and the objects she collects, Pia creates
bright, vibrant works that celebrate animals, plants, and the
character of everyday Dunedin life.
